Whiria—God’s unique mission lives in everyone!
Nau mai, Haere mai! Welcome to Whiria! We are so glad you are here!
At Arotahi, we believe that being woven together in mission is part of God’s heart for each of us. No matter how young, we can all contribute – each prayer, expression of aroha (love), and small step is precious.
Whiria has been connecting with and resourcing young people for many years by providing resources to children and intermediate group leaders. Each episode highlights a different part of the world and tells a story of what God is doing around the world.
What’s in a name?
The name Whiria speaks to this vision: being woven together in mission. Mission isn’t a solo endeavour – it’s something we do together, and it starts young. Every child has a role to play in what God is doing in the world. Through Whiria, we hope that our tamariki can discover their hand-carved mission that God has for each one of them.
“But the Lord said to me, ‘Do not say, I am too young. You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.’” – Jeremiah 1:7
How does it work?
There are resources available for your children or intermediate groups. These include the new episode, lesson plan and any activities relevant to the episode. These come out eight times a year, and can be accessed here below
